How the match unfolded
Paris FC had announced a pre-match tribute to Pierre Ferracci, who is handing over the club presidency after 14 years. Liam Rosenior's side then took control from the start. Pierre Lees-Melou hit the post with a curling shot, and Lukáš Hrádecký kept Monaco level with a close-range save from Sinayoko.
The breakthrough came in the 38th minute. Paris FC won the ball high up the pitch, Maxime Lopez laid it back to Sinayoko, and the Mali international turned a right-footed shot into the bottom-left corner. Six minutes later Moses Simon played him through, Sinayoko got away from Eric Dier and beat Hrádecký again to make it 2-0 at the break.
Filipe Luís made a double change at half-time, taking off Paris Brunner and Edan Diop for Folarin Balogun and Christian Mawissa. Monaco improved, and in the 65th minute Vanderson crossed from the right for Balogun to finish from close range.
Paris FC restored their two-goal lead nine minutes later. Sinayoko held off Dier inside the box and set up Pagis, who swept a shot into the bottom-left corner. Sinayoko was replaced by Omar Sissoko in the 79th minute.
Monaco pushed for a second goal. Balogun headed just wide from a corner in the 87th minute and shot narrowly wide in stoppage time, but they did not hit the target again after Kevin Trapp saved from Balogun in the 72nd minute. Paris FC finished with 19 shots, 10 of them on target, to Monaco's nine and two.
What does it mean for Paris FC and Monaco?
Paris FC bounced back from their 2-1 defeat at Lens last weekend and now have 17 points from nine games, three behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. It was also their third straight win over Monaco. Rosenior described Sinayoko as "constantly exceptional", RMC Sport reported, and Le Parisien and RMC Sport both said the double took the striker to the top of the Ligue 1 scoring chart.
Monaco stay on 15 points. Since the 2-2 draw with Toulouse, they have lost at Lorient, drawn with Lille and now lost in Paris.
What happens next?
Monaco host FC Nordsjælland in the Conference League on Thursday, then visit Le Mans on Sunday 8 November. Paris FC travel to AJ Auxerre, beaten 5-1 at Strasbourg on Sunday, for a 16:15 UK kick-off on Saturday 7 November. More results are in our Ligue 1 section.
