How the match unfolded

Both sides took time to settle. Monaco carried the early threat, and in the 15th minute Lamine Camara's driven pass ricocheted in the Toulouse box and sat up for Mathys Deterbout, whose scooped close-range effort struck the crossbar.

The hosts broke through in the 29th minute. Aleksandr Golovin crossed from the left and Edan Diop timed his run to glance a header home from six yards for his first club goal.

Nine minutes later Monaco doubled the lead. Pressing high, they forced a loose moment and Matthis Abline struck from the edge of the box past Guillaume Restes — another first goal in Monaco colours.

The second half began in disaster for the leaders. Nazinho pulled down Mark McKenzie at a corner, and Tengstedt crisply converted the penalty in the 48th minute for his first Toulouse goal.

Eleven minutes later the visitors were level. Half-time substitute Oppong steered home Tengstedt's pass from the centre of the area, completing a rapid comeback and opening his account for Les Violets.

Monaco pushed for a winner and finished with 16 attempts and 58% possession, but Toulouse cleared repeatedly under pressure. Late on Restes produced a sprawling save to deny Golovin's arrowed free-kick, and the visitors held firm through the closing stages to take a point back from the Principality.

First goals — then a second-half swing

Diop and Abline both opened their Monaco accounts before the break — a header from Golovin's cross and a low drive from the edge of the box. Tengstedt and Oppong answered in kind for Toulouse after the restart, turning a comfortable home lead into shared spoils. Oppong's introduction at half-time proved decisive in the equaliser, with Tengstedt providing the assist after converting the penalty himself.

What the draw means

Monaco stay top of Ligue 1 on 14 points from six games (four wins, two draws), leapfrogging Lille on the night despite dropping two points after leading at half-time. Toulouse stretch their unbeaten run to three and sit on six points after a determined away recovery. Next, Toulouse travel to Le Mans in Ligue 1 while Monaco turn to the UEFA Conference League midweek.
