How the match unfolded
PSG were without Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembélé, Nuno Mendes and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Vitinha, João Neves and Désiré Doué started on the bench, and Hakimi wore the armband.
Bottom side Le Havre pressed high and took the lead in the 18th minute, when Rayan Fofana crossed at the end of a quick counter-attack and Josh Maja scored his fourth goal of the season. Arnaud Bodart saved from Ferran Torres, but in the 26th minute Lucas Hernández sent Hakimi clear and he set up Godts to finish from close range.
Two minutes later Mayulu found Hakimi on the right and he beat Bodart at the near post. The goal stood after a VAR check for offside. Djibril Ouziad blocked a Warren Zaïre-Emery shot and Bodart denied Dro Fernández before the break.
Hakimi made it 3-1 in the 55th minute with a free-kick after a foul on Maghnes Akliouche. Maja headed against the post in the 62nd minute, and seconds later Hakimi sent Mayulu through to beat the onrushing Bodart about 40 metres from goal. It was Mayulu's second goal of the week.
Matvey Safonov saved a diving header from Mbwana Samatta in the 66th minute. Three minutes later Hakimi completed his hat-trick, following up after Bodart blocked his first attempt from a Godts cross. David Boly replaced him in the 71st minute. Safonov kept out Samatta again late on and denied Rassoul Ndiaye in stoppage time.
What does the win mean for PSG?
PSG have 20 points from nine games, two more than Lille, and have now won twice in six days after beating Lyon 2-0 last Sunday. According to the club, Luis Enrique has 127 wins in 188 matches in charge, one more than Laurent Blanc. "It's my first hat-trick. I'm happy and I hope to score as many goals as possible in this shirt," Hakimi told PSG TV.
What happens next for Le Havre?
Le Havre stay bottom on two points, without a win after nine games. Earlier this month they lost 1-0 at Lille. "That goal hurt us mentally. After that, it became too complicated," coach Didier Digard said of Hakimi's free-kick. They host Lorient on 8 November. More results are in our Ligue 1 section.
