How the match unfolded
Angers struck first. In the 14th minute Amine Sbaï's delivery from the right was not cleared by Geoffrey Kondogbia, and Raolisoa headed in from close range.
Paixão was Marseille's most persistent threat and forced Lopes into a save with a header in the 32nd minute. The visitors then turned the game around before the break. In the 37th minute Abdelli, a former Angers player, headed in Timothy Weah's cross from close range, and six minutes later Kamissoko headed Emerson's corner into the bottom corner to make it 2-1.
Just before the hour, Gouiri was fouled in the box by Yassin Belkhdim. Lopes saved his penalty in the 59th minute, but Gouiri reacted first to score at the second attempt a minute later.
Angers responded. Substitute Prosper Peter, on for Louis Mouton in the 57th minute, hit the bar from Jim Allevinah's cross, and Emmanuel Biumla, booked in the 68th minute, went off injured four minutes later. From a corner, Carlens Arcus was fouled by Tochukwu Nnadi, who was booked, and Amine El Ouazzani converted the penalty in the 75th minute to make it 3-2.
Nnadi quickly made amends. In the 83rd minute he set up Harit, whose curling right-footed shot from outside the box found the bottom corner. Two minutes later Paixão finished from the centre of the box for his first goal of the season. Jeffrey de Lange saved from Peter late on, and the hosts could not reply in six minutes of stoppage time.
What it means
Marseille had 58% of the ball and 21 shots to Angers' 11, with eight on target. The win, three days after a 1-0 home defeat by Olympiakos in the Europa League, followed last weekend's 2-0 victory at Troyes and lifted Génésio's team to nine points from seven games, eighth in the table at full time. It was also the same scoreline as Marseille's win at the Stade Raymond-Kopa in January.
Angers, beaten 5-1 at Brest last weekend, have now conceded ten goals in two league games. Stéphane Gilli's side are 14th on seven points.
What's next
Marseille travel to Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday (17:45 UK), then host Le Havre next Sunday at 16:15 UK, when Angers welcome Lorient. Elsewhere on Matchday 7, Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to win 3-1 at Strasbourg on Saturday.
