Portugal kept their perfect record in Nations League A on Sunday night, coming from behind to beat Norway 2-1 in Porto despite finishing with ten men. The Netherlands moved to the top of Group A2 with a 2-1 win over Serbia in Eindhoven, Greece and Germany drew 0-0 in Thessaloniki, and Rasmus Højlund's penalty gave Denmark a 1-0 win over Wales in Cardiff.
Greece 0-0 Germany
- Half-time: 0-0
- Scorers: None
- Red cards: None
- Venue: Toumba Stadium, Thessaloniki
Greece beat Germany 1-0 on German soil a week earlier, and this time Jürgen Klopp's side could not find a way past them at Toumba Stadium. It was a scrappy contest, with seven bookings in total. Greece's Kostas Tsimikas and Germany's Waldemar Anton were both booked in the first half.
Greece made two changes at the break, one of them Konstantinos Karetsas for Vangelis Pavlidis. Klopp answered just after the hour, bringing on Saïd El Mala and Nick Woltemade for Lennart Karl and Jonathan Burkardt. None of the changes produced a goal, and the last of the bookings went to Malick Thiaw in the 90th minute.
The point keeps Greece unbeaten after four games with eight points. Germany are third on five, three points behind the top two, after a draw, a defeat, a win and a draw since Klopp took charge.
Netherlands 2-1 Serbia
- Half-time: 1-1
- Scorers: Netherlands - Koopmeiners 31', Zirkzee 72'; Serbia - Cvetković 35'
- Red cards: None
- Venue: PSV Stadion, Eindhoven
Xavi Hernández's side needed a substitute to beat the group's bottom team. Teun Koopmeiners opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a low left-footed free kick into the bottom corner. Serbia were level four minutes later when Mihajlo Cvetković headed in Aleksa Terzić's cross from close range.
Joshua Zirkzee came on for Mexx Meerdink at half-time and settled the game in the 72nd minute, scoring from close range after a pass from Tijjani Reijnders. Serbia sent on Luka Jović, Filip Kostić and Andrija Živković, but they could not find an equaliser.
The Netherlands are top of Group A2 on eight points, level with Greece but ranked first in the table. Serbia have lost all four games and have no points.
Portugal 2-1 Norway
- Half-time: 1-1
- Scorers: Portugal - Cancelo 38', Ramos 79'; Norway - Ajer 36'
- Red cards: Francisco Conceição (Portugal) 86', second yellow
- Venue: Estádio do Dragão, Porto
Norway took the lead in the 36th minute when Kristoffer Ajer drove a shot from outside the box into the top corner after Martin Ødegaard laid off a set piece. Their lead lasted two minutes. João Cancelo, booked early on, hit back with a strike from distance after Nuno Mendes set him up.
Erling Haaland went off in the 67th minute, with Jørgen Strand Larsen replacing him. Portugal won it in the 79th minute when João Félix set up Gonçalo Ramos to score from close range. Ramos also scored the winner in Oslo last month. Francisco Conceição was sent off with two yellow cards in the 86th minute, but Portugal saw out the remaining minutes and stoppage time.
The holders have 12 points from 12 and lead Group A4 by six points. Norway are bottom on three points, behind Wales on head-to-head.
Wales 0-1 Denmark
- Half-time: 0-0
- Scorers: Denmark - Højlund 75' (pen)
- Red cards: None
- Venue: Cardiff City Stadium
Denmark beat Wales for the second time in a week. They lost Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to injury after ten minutes but created the clearer chances in a goalless first half. Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward then kept them out early in the second half. He blocked Højlund's close-range shot and tipped Gustav Isaksen's header onto the post.
The game turned in the 75th minute. Ward misplaced a pass to Isaksen and brought him down as he tried to recover the ball, and Højlund rolled the penalty into the bottom left corner. Craig Bellamy sent on Kieffer Moore late on, but Wales could not force an equaliser.
The win lifts Brian Riemer's Denmark to second in Group A4 with six points. Wales stay on three, three days after beating Norway.
