Lazio beat Juventus 3-0 at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night to draw level with Inter Milan at the top of Serie A. Oliver Provstgaard headed Gennaro Gattuso's side in front before half-time, fellow Dane Gustav Isaksen doubled the lead midway through the second half and substitute Fisayo Dele-Bashiru finished a late counter-attack.

Juventus were without Luciano Spalletti on the touchline. He watched from the stands while serving a one-match ban, after he and Cagliari coach Fabio Pisacane were both sent off following the final whistle of the 1-1 draw in Cagliari a week earlier. His long-time assistant Marco Domenichini took charge from the bench, and the home crowd jeered the team at the end.

How the match unfolded

Juventus had the first shot on target when Kerim Alajbegović tried his luck from distance in the fifth minute, but Christos Mandas gathered it. In the 24th minute Randal Kolo Muani turned the ball in after a scramble in the box, but he was flagged offside and a VAR check upheld the call.

Isaksen headed wide on the half-hour, and Lazio went ahead in the 37th minute from a corner routine. Zaccagni crossed from the left and Provstgaard got between Bremer and Jhon Lucumí to head past Guglielmo Vicario. Just before the break, a shot from Tavares deflected off Bremer onto the top of the crossbar.

Spalletti had said he would probably phone his staff at half-time, and Juventus sent on Nick Woltemade for Alajbegović at the restart. The change brought their best chance in the 55th minute, when Kolo Muani broke down the left and found Woltemade, whose first-time shot went just wide of the post.

Lazio punished them in the 66th minute. Tavares switched play with a long pass to Isaksen on the right, and the winger cut inside Zeki Çelik before curling a left-footed shot into the far corner.

Juventus added Francisco Conceição, Edon Zhegrova, Andrea Cambiaso and Jérémie Boga, but Kolo Muani's header from Woltemade's cross in the 82nd minute went over. In the 89th minute Dele-Bashiru, on for Taylor since the 69th minute, broke from his own half, combined with fellow substitute Pinamonti and drove into the box before beating Vicario with a low right-footed finish.

What it means

Lazio are unbeaten after seven league games, with six wins and a draw. They have 19 points, level with Inter, who stay top on goal difference after winning 3-1 at Bologna on Saturday. It is the first time Lazio have won six of their first seven Serie A games. Isaksen also scored in Denmark's 2-0 Nations League win over Wales last month.

Juventus had 58% of the ball but only two shots on target, and Mandas was rarely troubled. After a 2-1 Europa League win at Celta Vigo in midweek, they are eighth on 11 points, eight behind the leaders. AC Milan, 3-2 winners over Atalanta earlier on Sunday, are fourth on 15.

What's next

Juventus host Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday (17:45 UK), then visit Lecce on Sunday 25 October (17:00 UK). Lazio host Parma on Saturday 24 October (19:45 UK).
