Barcelona will wear a shirt carrying the GOLF logo of American musician and designer Tyler, The Creator when they host Real Madrid in El Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday 25 October. The club and main sponsor Spotify announced the collaboration on Thursday, with the GOLF wordmark replacing Spotify's usual logo on the front of the shirt.
Barça Femení will wear it first, in their Liga F match the day before, on Saturday 24 October.
A first for the Spotify partnership
Tyler, The Creator joins Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo as artists who have featured on the front of Barcelona's Clásico shirt.
This time Spotify has handed the artist full creative control for the first time in the partnership. That covers the campaign visuals, a short film directed by Tyler and a joint Spotify, GOLF WANG and FC Barcelona clothing collection.
Joan Soler, Barcelona's vice-president for the commercial area, said the initiative "has become part of the anticipation surrounding this match and enables us to reach audiences around the world."
Limited shirts and a GOLF WANG collection
According to the club, 1,899 limited-edition matchday shirts will go on sale, a number Spotify says draws on Barcelona's founding year. A further 22 will carry the signatures of the players in the squads for the Clásico and the Liga F match, and 11 will be signed by Tyler, The Creator.
The wider collection includes a bomber jacket, a retro tracksuit, a leopard-print set, T-shirts, sweatshirts and a collaboration scarf. Spotify said it goes on sale from 15 October at GOLF stores in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Sydney and London and at golfwang.com, while the club is selling it through Barça Stores, its online store and Nike.
Spotify will also host Copa De Golf, an evening of music, football and fashion in Barcelona, on 24 October, and the GOLF shirt will be added to Konami's eFootball game before the match.
The Clásico build-up
The shirt launch comes ten days before a Clásico that Real Madrid will play without Vinícius Júnior, who was handed a four-match La Liga ban that rules him out of the trip to Barcelona. Hansi Flick's side head into it after their 4-1 Champions League comeback win at Galatasaray.
