Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has undergone successful surgery on his right knee, Deportivo de A Coruña confirmed on Thursday.
Successful surgery in Madrid
The La Liga club said Aubameyang was operated on successfully on Thursday, 24 September 2026, by traumatologist Manuel Leyes at the Centro Olympia in Madrid. The procedure was carried out to resolve discomfort in the external meniscus of his right knee, which he suffered during Deportivo’s match against Real Betis.
Thursday’s confirmation follows Deportivo’s medical bulletin of 23 September, which had already stated that Aubameyang would be operated on that Thursday to address the meniscus problem.
Discharge and start of recovery
According to Deportivo, the forward is due to receive hospital discharge during Thursday and will return to A Coruña to begin his recovery process.
The club said his evolution will mark his return to group training. No official timetable for a comeback has been published alongside the surgery update.
Squad impact
Aubameyang is a senior attacking reference for Deportivo after joining the club in 2026. A spell on the sidelines after meniscus surgery removes a proven finisher from the matchday picture while rehabilitation continues under the club’s medical staff.
